The 2019 October NI BMW Club fall ride was to the Driftless Area of Wisconsin, and hosted by members Doug and Liz Jacobs. Friday the group met in Crystal Lake for a ride led by member Steve Schwarz up to Doug and Liz's cabin, where some members camped and others stayed in a motel in nearby Richland Center, WI. Steve was anxious to bring everyone to Roller Coaster Road on the ride up. And he did, but the recent rains threw a curve ball and the group encountered a bit of a flood on the route.
A little rerouting and the group made it to the cabin for Brats on the Balcony and drinks around the fire.
Yes, we ran into .... a little rain on Saturday. Okay... a lot of rain on Saturday. BUT, we also ran into a great little restaurant in Hillsboro, WI, hung out with some other Beemer friends attending the Tohma BMW weekend getaway near by, and ended up warm and toasty around the Jacobs' cabin wood stove sharing great stories, ice cream sundaes and a few beverages of choice. The group also met for a wonderful Mexican dinner at Los Amigos2 in Richland Center, AND got to watch the town's night parade with lights on every float. Sunday turned out pretty nice, and the ride back to northwest Illinois was at everyone's own leisure, and a beautiful day. Great trip and memories to share.
Great Weekend! Thanks again to our hosts Liz and Doug!
