End of the Season Ride
October 4, 2019 - October 6, 2019
The Northern Illinois BMW Motorrad Club in conjunction with members Doug and Liz Jacobs invite members and guests to join us for the End of the season ride on October 4,5 and 6th (Friday-Sunday). We will meet at the Craig’s Wood Golf Course in Woodstock, Ill – Friday the 4th at 10:30AM with kickstands up at 11:00AM. We’ll ride a scenic curvy route up to Richland Center Wisconsin and the woodland cabin of Doug and Liz Jacobs.
If you choose to camp, their cabin has tent space for ten or so tents. If you’d rather motel, there are several options in Richland Center including –
The Center Lodge, Richland Center, WI – (608) 647-8988
The Ramada, Richland Center, WI – (608) 647-8869
Saturday will have us on a semi guided route through some of the most scenic curvy and twisty roads in this beautiful region, the day long loop will include stopping for warm cider and donuts at Sunrise Orchard in the afternoon.
Agenda – Friday October 4th ride up, set up camp (or get your room). Friday evening will have Brats (Wisconsin made of course) beverages and a campfire. BMW MOA will be co-sponsoring this fest!
Saturday October 5th – Breakfast in Richland Center, after which we’ll do a 150 mile or so scenic fall loop, stopping for lunch near the Mississippi. Saturday evening dinner in town followed by a bonfire at Liz and Doug’s cabin!
Sunday October 6th – Knock down camp and head back to your homes.
Notes – two things are certain.
1. It’ll be getting dark earlier and earlier and there will be a chill in the air so come prepared if you’re camping. Typically, highs are in the low 70s and lows in the low 40s, so wear appropriate gear, and if camping, the appropriate sleeping system.
2. Deer will be out and about, so ride with care anywhere you are travel – but especially in the forested hills and valleys of Wisconsin.
There is no registration cost for this weekend – you pay your own way, Note the Northern Illinois BMW Motorrad Club and the National BMW MOA are chipping in to cover the Friday evening Bratwurst dinner….but you must preregister so we know how many people will be attending and will be camping vs moteling.
